Have skirt, will travel

Cardigan: J.Crew, Top: UniQlo, Skirt: Meadow Rue, Boots: Jasper & Jeera, Cowl: Vero Moda.

Christmas is almost upon us, and my husband and I are spending it in America! I don't know what I'm more excited about - all the four (!) Cirque de Soleil shows we have tickets for, or the fact that I'll be able to visit a J.Crew store for the first time - haha! We're going to San Francisco and then to Las Vegas. It's going to be so utterly awesome. No family, no stress, just us being cosy and romantic.

And yes, I've packed this skirt. Of course I have. This skirt and I are like twins separated at birth, we just cannot bear to be parted. Like, ever.

Mustard and Watermelon

Cardigan: H&M, Dress: Anthro, old, Necklace: F21, Belt: UniQlo, Boots: from Norway.

Do you ever have that thing happen where you don't wear an item for ages, and then rediscover it? You go from wondering if your ass looks enormous in it and if you should give it away to falling in love with the item all over again. Suddenly you're seeing endless possibilities and coming up with so many outfits for this item - does this sound familiar? Because this was pretty much the case with me and this sweater dress. I just about live it in now.

I doubt mustard and watermelon would actually taste nice together - unless you were pregnant at the time, maybe? - but I do like how they look together.

Making a Splash

Blazer: Cartonnier, Dress: Anthro, old, Belt: Thrifted, Boots: Hunter, Umbrella: From Japan.

This outfit is totally copycatted (new word! all mine!) from this post on Sayaka's blog. She has such a good eye for pattern and colour - as soon as I saw this I wanted to recreate it. I wish you could see my belt better - should've added a close-up! Thrifted after a trip to the dentist this summer (he runs his practice out of his house, which is in the boonies, and thus surrounded by good thrifting), it's got lots of comic book panels and speech bubbles on it - kind of gives it a Jason Pollock vibe!

When I saw that my usual photo spot had a large puddle in the middle of it, of course I had to mess around in the water! This was my date night outfit for when Victor took me to see the Hobbit, after a meal at a Japanese restaurant. A Tolkien movie* and Japanese food - that man sure knows how to spoil me!

*All Norwegians love Tolkien. We can't help it, honest.

My Isle is Fair

Cardigan: Anthro, Cowl: Vero Moda, Skirt: J.Crew, Boots: Timberland.

This sweater was an early Christmas gift from my mum. How awesome is my mum?!
It's lovely and warm, and so darn cute, not to mention it fits so nicely into my wardrobe and matches so many of the things I already have.

This weekend we are flying to Stuttgart for the Christmas markets, and this sweater will be going there with me, to keep me nice and toasty in the - 8 degrees Celsius. Yeah, that's right, minus eight - it's not even minus one here and we already feel like we're about to die as soon as we step outside, so this should be... interesting!

Frozen Oxblood.

Cowl: Vero Moda, Sweater: Swapped, Skirt: Meadow Rue, Boots: Meander Moto Boots.

London was so cold today that I almost died*. I could practically feel the oxblood freezing in my veins (uh, what?). I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's so cold that I can't decide whether or not the colour of my new skirt qualifies as oxblood. Does it?

On a happier note, my Norwegian powers are back in full swing. And by that, I mean my ability to communicate with animals like a Disney princess. Today, there was a little squirrel who wanted to climb all over me while walked up to my usual photo spot, no doubt expecting me to go "Aww!" and feed him, only all I had in my pocket were my house keys and my lens cap. But how was I supposed to know whether he had rabies or not? So I was more or less chased around by this tiny hyperactive squirrel! That last picture is me trying to telepathically communicate that I would like Mr. Squirrel to stay the h-word away from me, please.

*I exaggerate, of course.
